Meet Dani – Primary Therapist and Family Program Leader

Dani serves as a primary therapist at Asheville Recovery Center, where she also runs the center’s family program. Her unique blend of personal experience and professional expertise makes her an incredible resource for clients and their loved ones. As someone in long-term recovery herself, and a family member of an addict, Dani has a deep passion for helping others navigate challenges she has personally faced. Her empathy, insight, and dedication create a supportive and transformative experience for those she works with.

From Teaching to Therapy

Before becoming a therapist, Dani was an elementary school teacher. Her background in education shines through in her work at ARC, as she is committed to helping clients and their families understand the disease of addiction and the tools needed for recovery. Dani brings patience, creativity, and a natural ability to connect with people to her role. She is passionate about breaking down complex ideas into practical strategies that her clients and their families can use in their daily lives.

Leading the Family Program

Dani’s work doesn’t stop with her clients. As the leader of ARC’s family program, she focuses on helping loved ones understand their role in the recovery process. Addiction doesn’t just affect the individual—it impacts the entire family system. Dani works to educate and empower family members, helping them rebuild trust, set healthy boundaries, and provide meaningful support. Her compassionate approach helps families heal together, fostering stronger connections and lasting change.

Education and Georgia Roots

Dani is a proud Georgia native and earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia. As a lifelong “Dawg,” her roots keep her grounded and connected to her purpose. Dani’s educational background provides her with a solid foundation to address the emotional and relational complexities of addiction recovery.

In her free time, Dani channels her creativity and passion for helping others into her podcast, Illuminating You. The podcast features guests who share personal stories of overcoming struggles, with the hope of inspiring and helping others facing similar challenges. Dani believes in the power of storytelling to create connection, offer hope, and spark change.
